We called them Tempe Kemul. Tempe is a food made from the fermentation of soy beans and few other ingredients using “tempe yeast.” While “kemul” is a Javanese term means blanket. Yeah, because this fried tempe were shrouded in the wheat flour. Seems like covered the blanket.. 🙂
It’s very tasty when eaten hot with chilli, with a cup of tea or coffee.
Many places in Indonesia has their own typical tempe. But I found them In Wonosobo, the mountainous place in Central Java.
