We Call Them: Tempe Kemul

We called them Tempe Kemul. Tempe is a food made from the fermentation of soy beans and few other ingredients using “tempe yeast.” While “kemul” is a Javanese term means blanket.Β  Yeah, because this fried tempe were shrouded in the wheat flour. Seems like covered the blanket.. πŸ™‚

It’s very tasty when eaten hot with chilli, with a cup of tea or coffee.

Many places in Indonesia has their own typical tempe. But I found them In Wonosobo, the mountainous place in Central Java.

      1. iya beda sama yg di purwokerto, bumbu tepung e beda soalnya, kalau bakwan di pekalogan dinamai nya jg beda loh namanya unik “badak ecak” hehe
